Fireproof functions and Structural testing:
Safes of the IBA Series are manufactured using unique foamy cement material, hence enhancing resistance to high temperatures. The fine design of the safes means that all seams are weled perfectly, makin the safes resistant to fire.
STAGE 1: Heating Test
Safes of the IBA Series was exposed to over a 1000°C (1830°F) in an air-tight gas furnace for nearly 2 hours.
STAGE 2: Dropping Test
Immediately after the heating test, the red hot safe was lifted up and dropped from a height of 9.1 meters (29.9 feet)
STAGE 3: Re-heating Test
After the dropping test the safe was reheated in the furnance at the mean temperature 1090°C (2010°F) for another 45minutes.
Phase 4: Test Objective
These tests simulate the most severe case of a house on fire witch the situation of a safe falling though the floor and be subjected to another round of heat after impact of the fall.
Test Results:
Besides the melting of some metal fittings on the external door, which had low melting points, the interior of the IBA Series Safes remained intact. The internal temperature was at 130°C, well below the paper tolerance level of 177°C. In face, the colour of the paper did not even change!
